Welcome to the Spring issue of Design Matters.

As we sail swiftly from Spring into Summer, we look back on a busy few months and highlight a plethora of exciting happenings at the studio. From collaborating on the interior design of a stunning Oyster Yacht, featuring in an interview for a special edition of Winkworth Luxury Magazine, to photographing a handful of completed projects, and continuing work on those comfortably underway. We’ve enjoyed inspiring days out at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and WOW!house 2025 - and the icing on the cake - we made the House & Garden Top 100 list of Interior Designers and Architects once again this year. It was the most fantastic surprise to find out we’d earned ourselves a spot and we are incredibly proud that our team has been recognised among such formidable talent. NEW TO OUR PORTFOLIO - A PRIVATE FAMILY HOME IN LONDON

Decorated within a combination of classic and more playful arrangements, the schemes in this elegant London property balance both formal and informal spaces suited to a bustling family household. Below are some of our favourite rooms: -

OYSTER YACHT INTERIOR DESIGN

We were commissioned to support the design of the interior of a beautiful custom built 7-berth Oyster 565 (56ft), blue water cruising yacht for a past client whose house we decorated in Regents Park. The design brief was to create an Art Deco scheme with an Adriatic flavour and in response, we have provided schemes for the main saloon and all cabins, working closely with the design team at Oyster Yachts who cleverly incorporated them into the shell design over an 18 month build duration. The main internal spaces feature horizontal rift cut oak with a limed finish, and a table in red gum with walnut edging in a high gloss finish that can be converted to be used as a coffee table, dining table, or day bed - all designed by the team at Oyster Yachts. The interior is further enhanced with a range of contemporary textiles chosen by Henry from brands including Christopher Farr Cloth, Fermoie, and trim from Samuel & Sons, in an unexpectedly modern scheme.

RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

On a balmy Summer’s evening, we enojyed a visit to this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show where there was inspiration in spades! The skill and talent required, not only to design such wonderful gardens, but to build them and add planting and mature trees within just a few days to make them look like they’ve always been there, is simply astonishing. We share some of our favourite gardens below: - 

WOW!house GALA EVENING 2025

Wow indeed!! What a spectacular collection of rooms. Huge congratulations to the designers and all the team at Design Centre Cheslea Harbour. This years show house feels like the best yet. The level of detail in each of the rooms is so impressive and the designers have adopted such imaginative ways of using the relatively modest spaces to showcase both design and all the incredible brands & suppliers that have contributed. To be part of the WOW!house ‘family’ having designed the kitchen in collaboration with Martin Moore two years ago, it is an immense pleasure to visit each year and admire how the next school of designers has interpreted the space.
