SUMMER 2024

Welcome to the Summer issue of Design Matters.

It’s been a Summer of celebrations at HPHQ having been awarded industry accolades from House & Garden and Country & Townhouse Magazines. As a comparatively small studio, recognition from publications of such reverence is hugely important to our success and makes the hours spent creating original spaces for our clients even more worth it. So far this year, we have completed projects including a Chelsea townhouse, country houses in Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire, and a large private residence in Holland Park, and we recently designed and installed a new show set for SheerLuxe providing a sophisticated space for hosting their eponymous show. We have been featured in some lovely press coverage and even made the front cover of The London Magazine. A first for us! We recently photographed a stunning bedroom, bathroom and dressing room suite in Southwest London with photographer Georgina Viney, and we have several completed houses to photograph over the coming months that we hope to be able to share soon. And, as if all this were not enough, we have just secured a brand-new studio which we will be fitting out in time to relocate in the Autumn.

COUNTRY & TOWNHOUSE 50 FINEST

We are delighted to be included as one of Country & Townhouse Magazine’s 50 Finest Interior Designers. The beautifully edited Country & Town Interiors 2024/25 book featuring the work of the talented designers in this years’ list is on newsstands now and is well worth a read if you are looking for design inspiration. With special thanks to Carole Annette who has so generously championed our studio over the years. 

SHEERLUXE x HENRY PRIDEAUX INTERIOR DESIGN

In an exciting creative collaboration, we recently partnered with SheerLuxe, one of the UK’s leading online fashion and lifestyle publishers, to elevate the set for their eponymous SheerLuxe Show, within a ‘Laidback Luxe’ scheme showcasing a range of stunning furniture and finishes from some of the design world’s finest interiors brands: Ben Whistler Blue Label, Jennifer Manners, Pure White Lines, Lincrusta, Fox Linton, George Spencer Designs, Samuel & Sons, Vaughan Designs, Fermoie, Teyssier, Eadie & Crole, Nobilis, and Edward Bulmer Natural Paint. The scheme is luxurious yet understated, balancing soft neutrals and warm pink tones in a combination of tactile materials providing an elegant room set for hosting the show and its guests, experts in fashion, beauty, lifestyle & interiors.

LONDON BEDROOM, BATHROOM & DRESSING ROOM SUITE

When tasked with updating the main bedroom, bathroom & dressing room at a large double-fronted family home in Southwest London, Henry worked with some of his most trusted suppliers and makers to reinvigorate the space within a beautiful new scheme providing a collection of stunning spaces that wouldn’t look out of place in a boutique hotel. The brief was to redecorate the bedroom using a range of sophisticated finishes in a palette of pink and green, and to completely reimagine the layout and functionality of the bathroom by reconfiguring the existing footprint and dividing the space to create a new bathroom with adjoining dressing area complete with full height custom fitted storage, in a quietly soothing palette of green and blue.

IN THE PRESS

Featuring the whimsical Miss Marple-inspired study at our beautiful West London Terrace House project on the front cover, the July issue of The London Magazine focuses on country house style interiors in an article written by Arabella Youens. The living room of our Chelsea Townhouse project also features, and although these projects are London based, many of the fabrics and finishes selected have been influenced by a more characterful approach to create schemes that evoke an English country house style. There are ideas to replicate in your own home if you want to introduce an essence of country house style.
